Kick It On The Court

Initiative Overview

Kick It On The Court

In a year that challenged everyone, including sports fans, we wanted to offer Indiana Pacers’ fans the opportunity to show their hometown pride while also making an impact on and off the court. With Mountain Dew’s “Kick it on the Court,” we called on fans, sneakerheads and amateur artists to submit original shoe designs for a chance to win a design session with famed sneaker artist Sierato.

Working together, the winning design was brought to life in a pair of custom kicks for Pacers superstar Myles Turner to wear on the court of a 2021 NBA game – the first time a fan ever designed an NBA athlete’s shoes. Of course, we brought the Indianapolis community along for the ride, donating sneakers to local high school basketball teams to assist their game and fuel their passion on the court.

A win for the home team

Beyond the 60+ original design submissions we received for the custom sneakers, “Kick it on the Court” was responsible for donating 150 pairs of basketball shoes to mens and womens high school basketball teams across the Indianapolis Public Schools system. Recipients included students at George Washington, Shortridge, Crispus Attucks and Arsental Technical high schools.

Make it count

I was ecstatic when I found out I won the Mountain Dew Kick It On The Court contest! I've been a Pacers fan for years, and Myles has always been one of my favorite players. I really enjoyed being able to showcase his love for Indianapolis and the fans with a custom shoe design.
