Oh! So Locally Refreshed
As part of our celebration of Ohio businesses, we wanted to do something special for some of the state’s most popular restaurants. For Mike’s Place, a locally-loved restaurant dating back to 1987, we surprised Mike Kostensky, the owner, with $30,000 worth of upgrades. And, since the restaurant is known for its eclectic old-school décor, we threw in a vintage Pepsi vending machine. Over at Tommy’s Pizza, another staple in the community, we donated a new Pepsi machine, new seating and more to help keep this institution, and its traditions, alive.
With the launch of our Pepsi Passport program, we encouraged locals to visit some of Ohio’s most iconic locations – from the ballpark to the zoo, restaurants to amusement parks. Using the Pepsi Passport mobile app, users could check-in at designated locations to unlock stamps and be entered to win exclusive ‘Only in Ohio’ prizes just by supporting their favorite local spots.

“When the whole COVID thing started, Pepsi was one of the first people to contact me with material for reopening the restaurant and helping with our carryout… They have always been partners. Anything we need, they come down with.”
