Initiative Overview

Life Unseen

In an age with so much content available and so many platforms, it is disheartening to learn that three out of four Americans say they don’t see themselves represented in the arts. As a brand that’s passionate about individual expression, we saw an opportunity to make an impact and bring the spotlight to artists who might not otherwise have had a platform. With the launch of LIFE UNSEEN we wanted to expose these blind spots and generate real opportunities for underrepresented creators by providing them with greater access and visibility to get the audience they deserve.

As part of our commitment to remove unjust barriers, we partnered with four diverse individuals from Philadelphia, whose work spanned visual arts, fashion, film, and music. Through LIFE UNSEEN, these creators shared their skill and vision through their original art, live performances and personal testimonials. In addition to celebrating these exceptional artists, we also made a $25,000 donation to local organizations, chosen by them, that have influenced their journey.

Community Impact

To create an experiential extension of our commitment to showcasing these unseen artists, we partnered with the Philadelphia International Airport to bring to life the first-ever LIFEWTR Lounge. The new shop allowed travelers a space to recharge while also connecting with unique digital arts programming and designs, including LIFEWTR PRESENTS, a monthly video series featuring these talented creators. “For many years, our award-winning Airport Exhibition Program has highlighted the outstanding work of local artists through terminal art exhibits and performances,” said PHL CEO Chellie Cameron. “The LIFEWTR Lounge provides PHL with more opportunities to introduce our passengers to artists from the Greater Philadelphia region while they are in our terminal or on their journeys.”
